My Lost Friends
May 2026
Read the Interactive Digital Version made on Figma
"My Lost Friends" is a zine that documents the strange creatures hidden within everyday life. Each creature has its own personality, character stats, habits, and quirks, all tracked throughout the book. I wanted the creatures to feel only slightly unusual–things like a lost floating piece of lint or a double headed mouse–but out of place once you stop to take a closer look.
Designed as an interactive field journal, each spread features a small file pocket containing a sticker, a glossy mini Polaroid, and a hand-drawn doodle of the creature. One detail I was especially passionate about was allowing readers to physically remove the photographs, making the documentation feel more tangible and personal, as though they were collecting evidence of each encounter themselves.
Inspired by children's activity and play books, the zine embraces a playful, accessible format. Thick pages and spiral binding allow the book to lie completely flat while comfortably accommodating the interactive inserts, encouraging readers to explore each page at their own pace.
