Flower Table

MAY 2026

“Flower Table” is a bedside table created entirely from plywood for a furniture design class. The table is assembled using mortise and tenon joints without any glue, allowing the entire structure to be disassembled into four pieces. Inspired by the convenience of flat-pack furniture, this makes the table easy to transport, store, and assemble in different spaces.

The table features a simple flower and clover-shaped cutout motif that is repeated throughout the design, appearing in the legs, tabletop, and other structural elements. I experimented with scale and legibility to see how the motif could remain recognizable even when only partially visible, such as at the bottom of the legs or by simply having notches in the tabletop. By repeating and adapting the motif across different parts of the table, I wanted to create a consistent visual language throughout the piece.
